My First Sig

I have never claimed to be an artist or to even have an artistic bone in my body but ever since I found out about GIMP a few weeks I can't stop playing with it. This is my first sig that I feel good about but it is far from being good. I just thought I would share it with you guys. I incorporated a few of the tutorials I have seen on the forums just as a 'test' so to say. Any way I hope you like it and feel free to comment, I can handle criticism.

P.S. - I hope this is in the right spot.

Welcome to the dome!

For a first you are doing great. Keep messing with things and playing with all the knobs and switches.. then when you feel ready there is some strong talent here that can help you get to where you want to be.

about the sig

the animated text is a bit distracting and forces the eye away from the focal.

i like the effect you have going. kind of like an icy cave.

increase the opacity of the subject a bit to draw him out.

some good skills for your first sig.......better than my first ; :)

That's a lot better than my first sig... *mumbles*  Well then again welcome to the Dome, hope you can take the advice that they gave you, becuase i'd say the same.

Something I overlooked.. the size... 

Honestly, 894 x 345 is to large. The max size here on the Dome is 400 x 125.
