Download the zip file (

Put the included GIMP kaleidoscope.exe file in your GIMP
plugins folder: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins
Put the fp-kaleidoscope-anim.scm file in your GIMP
scripts folder: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\scripts
Restart GIMP so that GIMP can recognize the pluginOpen up the desired animation
Go to Filters > Animation > Kaleidoscope Animation...
Set the desired parameters, hit the OK button, and let the script do the rest.
Save as a gif.
The kaleidoscope plugin is an old GIMP plugin that's no longer included. Special thanks to saulgoode at gimptalk.com for suggesting the "RUN-WITH-LAST-VALS" option....really made this script (and others I'm working on) very functional.

Well, tonight I'll clean up the code a little bit and add one more option and re-post the script/plugin combo. The new script will allow you to create an animated kaleidoscope from a single image OR work on an existing animation. One neat thing you can do is keep running the script to get different results. You can even get crazy by using selected areas to create wild effects. Here's a few examples:
